Attending the seminar from VIBM were: Dr. Nguyễn Quang Hiệp – President of VIBM, Dr. Luu Thi Hong – Vice President of VIBM, MSc. Nguyen Thi Tam – Director of the Center for Equipment, Environment, and Labour Safety, MSc. Nguyen Thi Hoan – Secretary of the VIBM Youth Union, along with researchers from VIBM's specialized units.
The guest participants included: Professor Ngo Tuan from the Melbourne University (Australia), who was the keynote speaker for the seminar; Mr. Nguyen Van Lan, Senior Operations Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC); Ms. Vu Tuong Anh, Senior Technical Adviser from the International Finance Corporation (IFC); Dr. Trieu Viet Phuong, Acting Director of the Vietnam Standards and Quality Institute; and MSc. Eng. Tran Phuong from the Vietnam Institute for Building Science and Technology.

Opening the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Quang Hiep affirmed that the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions is an inevitable trend for all countries and industries, including the building materials industry. He also expressed his hope that through this seminar, VIBM researchers would gain specific directions and solutions to propose initiatives, seek services, or find financial resources to pursue emission reduction solutions for the BM industry.
During the seminar, MSc. Nguyen Thi Tam – Director of the Center for Equipment, Environment, and Labour Safety presented on “The Current Status and Potential for Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the Building Materials Production Sector in Vietnam.” The presentation attracted considerable interest from the audience and sparked many questions and discussions about recommendations and solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the BM industry in Vietnam.
At the same seminar, Professor Ngo Tuan from the Melbourne University (Australia) gave a presentation on “Reducing Emissions in the Building Materials Industry – Current Situation and Global Trends.” Additionally, the professor provided very practical and useful insights into Australia’s training programs and government policies supporting researchers at VIBM.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. Luu Thi Hong expressed gratitude to Professor Ngo Tuan and expressed a desire to strengthen development and connections to enhance opportunities for research and training collaborations between VIBM and the Melbourne University specifically, and Australia in general.
